Compressor Collection

Eight analog-inspired compressors for macOS — each with its own character, a faceplate that feels like real gear, and the essential controls right up front. Free.

Audio Unit (AU) only · macOS 11 or newer · Apple Silicon & Intel · Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton Live, Reaper and other AU hosts
All eight EKIDIO SOUND compressors

One family, one way of working

Every unit gets you there in one or two moves. The rarely touched settings live in the fold-out EKI drawer, so the faceplate stays clean.

Character first

Tube, transformer, FET and console colour you can hear — with a clean setting where it makes sense.

AUTO GAIN

On at startup: the output stays at the input level and the gain knob locks at 0 dB. Switch it off to set the level yourself.

Parallel MIX

Phase-aligned dry/wet blend on every unit — no comb filtering, no hollow sound.

Living meters

Glowing VU meters, gain-reduction scales and LEDs that follow the audio.

Presets

Starting points for vocals, drums, bass, buses and mastering — level-matched.

Resizable

Drag the corner from 75 % to 200 %. Each plugin remembers its size.

The eight units

OPTEKI

OPTEKI

Optical leveling amplifier

A smooth optical cell with a two-stage, program-dependent release: the longer it works, the slower it lets go. Just GAIN and PEAK REDUCTION, plus Compress/Limit.

Vocals, bass, acoustic instruments.

FETEKI

FETEKI

FET peak limiter

Lightning-fast attack (down to 20 µs), ratio buttons 4 · 8 · 12 · 20 and the aggressive ALL mode for over-compressed, exciting smash.

Drums, room mics, vocals with attitude, bass.

VARIEKI

VARIEKI

Variable-mu dynamics

Precision dual peak + RMS detection for invisibly smooth control, with an optional variable-mu tube colour on top. Two meters: gain reduction and output.

Mix bus, mastering, smooth vocal levelling.

BUSEKI

BUSEKI

Stereo bus compressor

The console-style VCA glue: stepped ratio, attack and release with a program-dependent AUTO release and a sidechain high-pass so the kick doesn't pump the mix.

Mix bus, drum bus, the "glue".

APEKI

APEKI

Punch bus compressor

THRUST keeps the low end punching through, KNEE goes from hard to soft, and TYPE switches between tight feed-forward and smooth vintage feedback. The big red OUTPUT says the rest.

Drum bus, mix bus, punchy bass.

DBEKI

DBEKI

RMS compressor / limiter

True RMS detection with program-dependent attack and a constant 120 dB/s release — the classic snap on kick and snare. OverEasy soft knee in one click, BELOW/ABOVE threshold LEDs.

Kick, snare, bass, guitars.

TUBEKI

TUBEKI

Opto tube compressor

A creamy optical cell feeding a tube gain stage: drive the GAIN for warmth. Fixed, Manual or combined attack/release, plus parallel compression.

Vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, mix bus warmth.

FAIREKI

FAIREKI

Variable-mu limiter

Feedback variable-mu tube limiting that gets steeper the harder you push, six time constants (5 and 6 program-dependent) and LAT/VERT mid-side mode.

Mix bus, mastering, drums and vocals that need weight.
